The integration of our architecture, interior design, and landscape services ensures a holistic vision and faster schedules while reducing costs and complex coordination.

-Max Strang

We’re a passionate team of designers who value [creativity] and believe that architecture, interior design and landscape are essential to your state of living. That is why it is imperative to imagine structure, interior spaces, and exterior spaces together, just as you will experience them, as [one].

Our ‘start with the end in mind’ approach ensures our design choices reflect your needs & tastes in every space — from grand to granular both inside and out. This methodology also fuels a unique and efficient style of cross-service design, which means less coordination and compromise across design divisions. And with [sustainability] as the foundation under our actions, we’re dedicated to respecting the earth we build on and providing an integrated space you’re connected with.

Architecture

Architecture

While our work naturally reflects your lifestyle, budget, and special considerations, it is the uniqueness and natural palette of your site that informs our design direction. With all this is mind, we create the unique living spaces through our evolving interpretation of tropical modernism.

The outcome is a masterfully balanced expression of physical structure and place that underlines the extraordinary experience of living in your creatively crafted sanctuary and architectural work of art.

1

Conceptual Design

The start of our working relationship, we listen intently to your preferences and see your culture, lifestyle, and life stage as context to brainstorm aesthetics and layout ideas. The site visit is where emotional and rational meet, as we draw inspiration from the surroundings and consider the unique challenges and opportunities the site presents.

2

Schematic Design

The schematic design process is where ideas move from raw to refine as we progress as a team through early concepts and iterations. Presenting our primary options starts the review process with you, where the ultimate schematic design takes shape.

3

Design Development

Here, design meets mechanics: the layout of air conditioning, the flow of plumbing and electrical, and specific recessed lighting factors. These considerations funnel into modeling, spatial planning, architectural lighting, and equipment/appliance placements, which inform construction.

4

Construction Documentation

All of the project specifications, calculations, notes, plans, elevations, schedules, and engineering details are laid out and constantly referenced. These documents inform the Permit Set and ensure codes are followed.

5

Construction Administration

From initial bids through completion, we monitor the work performed by contractors and vendors during the course of the project with tight communication and regular site observation.

Interior Design

Interior Design

At [STRANG] we consider interior design to be a natural and essential outcome of our holistic vision for our residential commissions, filtered through a modernist lens and informed by our discerning clients’ project briefs.

We use volume, light and materials to sculpt rich spatial experiences and curated environments—made even more distinctive by décor elements, such as carefully-selected finishes and fixtures, custom furniture, as well as fabrics, floor and window coverings and accessories. These spaces thoughtfully reflect our clients’ collections of art, heirlooms and mementos, and more importantly, their lives.

1

Schematic Design

Preliminary design is all about uncovering and understanding your vision, we dig deep into the many facets of your story—the dream list and the must-haves. We also coordinate with Architectural team to understand design direction and study the existing physical conditions in order to uncover opportunities and cater to your specific needs.  The pre-design report summarizes our findings.

2

Design Development

A visioning session and a palette to give you a full look and feel of what you can look forward to upon completion. We gain a keen understanding of your design preferences as well as your initial budget and time schedules. Spatial plans and furniture layouts are prepared, sample materials will be provided as necessary to generally illustrate our suggested Design Concepts including color schemes, interior finishes, wall coverings, floor coverings, ceiling treatments, and window treatments—all for your approval.

3

Construction Documentation

We help you select the things that connect you to and within your home. These are the items that remain with the home: plumbing fixtures, finishes, cabinetry and built-ins, architectural lighting, hardware, accessories, and equipment and appliances. These suggested Design Concepts will be illustrated and presented for your delight and approval and refined into final documentation.

4

Construction Supervision

Here all the small details get their turn with your attention. Collaboration with the Architectural team ensures effective coordination throughout the process. A drawing set is developed to unify the selections with interior elevations, enlarged plans, schedules, and corresponding details. The document set includes specific details about every piece of the vision and the combination of our teams ensure what is built is what we imagined. The combination of our teams ensures what is built is what we imagined. Regular, careful site observations monitor the work being ensures that progress is moving according to plan.

Sourcing & Selection of Merchandise, Purchase Logistics & Installation

Selecting Furniture and Décor is a wonder-filled process where showrooms temporarily transform into playgrounds and traversing the globe becomes a true temptation.  Throughout the process we will be presenting furniture and décor selections curated specifically to each space. From selection, comes purchase logistics where we navigate and manage tasks such as invoicing, negotiating, delivery, storage, order management, and site observations. In the end our instillation services provide the perfect way to enjoy the moving portion of coming home. We make sure everything is perfect—down to making the beds and setting the dinner table. We work for the WOW factor, so no detail is too small to deserve our attention.

Landscape

Landscape

Landscape Design serves far beyond the role of exterior decor, it connects outside too inside in a seamless balance. Our cross-service design approach considers all the specialty and multi-use opportunities across the environment. We create personal multi-use areas, softscapes and hardscapes; and finish with lighting to ensure home, land, and living blend together as one.

Our reverence for environmental stewardship inspires scientific exploration to determine how the story of sustainability and science can best blend with yours. A complex platform of factors begs consideration. The successful fusion of resort design, ecological sensitivity, and economic feasibility lead to your ultimate private enclave.

1

Conceptual Design Design

During the Conceptual Design phase, our team performs a thorough on-site analysis which stokes healthy discussions with you around goals, objectives, and schedule. This collaboration unifies the wants, needs, and facts. Our designers join in and the whole team formulates a refined Conceptual Site Plan.

2

Schematic Design

Conducting an initial design study of existing conditions on the subject property is the first step in the Schematic Design phase. From there, we discuss budget, time schedules, and design preferences. With these facts understood, we then prepare the schematic plans and with conceptual plantings of the softscapes and hardscapes of the property, both covered and uncovered by architectural elements. Additionally, we’ll provide a schematic modeling composition of the trees, softscapes, and hardscapes.

3

Design Development

After the Schematic Design is set and approved, we can Design Documentation which will further enhance the technical level of our suggested Design Concepts. Pertinent considerations here include locating the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment provided by the architect on the site plan as well as seeking input and direction from irrigation and lighting consultants to round out the design.

4

Construction Documentation

All of the landscaping specifications, arborist reports, tree preservation and repositioning plans, and a myriad of other required details are defined and constantly referenced until perfect. These documents inform the Permit Set and ensure codes are followed. Our environmental stewardship is on display in our approach and documentation.

5

Construction Administration

From initial bids through completion, we monitor the work performed by contractors and vendors during the course of the project with tight communication and regular, careful site observations.
