Influenced by Telluride’s mining history

[Harmonize] two existing layers into one spacious ‘mountain modern’ lair, strategically detailed by regional influences and historical hues of Telluride, Colorado.

- Inspired by the locational depth of character.
- Underpinned by influences of an old mining town.
- Splayed out over decompartmentalized dual structures.

Two condominium units on separate floors were combined and completely renovated to create a spacious “mountain modern” design. The upper level offers custom steel detailing influenced by the mining history of the surrounding Telluride region. The kitchen, dining and living areas are combined into one space, which also offers views into the adjacent Master Suite.

Harmony is struck by nestling into what was, while adjusting into the new nature of things.

An operable wall partition allows the master bedroom to be completely private or participate in the views of the main space. As part of the renovation, Strang was able to capture the space formerly occupied by a ‘public’ stair that connected the two separate units. This space was given to the ‘great room’ to enhance the overall design.
